Area Arrests

• Tony Wilbur Bryson, 35, 1418 Liberty Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with probation violation and burglary.

• Judy Illeen Cooper, 56, 209 Mountain View Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking (fiduciary).

• Anthony Lewis Jackson, 42, 79 Jackson St., apartment E, Atlanta, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with first degree forgery.

• Kennedy Rodewrick Shaffer, 27, 712 W. Tyler St., apartment 103, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.

• Steven Lee Smith, 36, 712 W. Tyler St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Georgia State Patrol with criminal attempt to distribute crack cocaine.

• Billy Lee Talley, 44, 2501 Dug Gap Road, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with first degree forgery.

• Jeffrey Dewayne Land Jr., 31, 1463 Sane Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (family violence).

• Joshua Wayne Whitaker, 21, 911 Fourth Ave., apartment A, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Chatsworth Police Department with disorderly conduct (family violence), public drunkenness and second degree criminal damage to property (family violence).
