As of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, approximately 2,000 North Georgia EMC members are still without power after severe storms caused damage throughout the service area Monday night and Tuesday morning.
The majority of outages are in Whitfield, Walker and Catoosa counties, with scattered outages in Chattooga, Gordon, Floyd and Murray counties. Crews have continued to work since the onset of the winds Monday night and will remain on duty until all power is restored.
Please stay away from downed lines and report them immediately to North Georgia EMC, your local power company or call 911. Customers can report outages on the NGEMC Mobile App. Customers may also view outages at the NGEMC Current Outage map at http://www.ngemc.com/STORMCENTER/CurrentOutages.aspx. During widespread outages, phone lines may be unavailable due to extremely high call volume.
