No one was injured in a fire this afternoon at the Mohawk Industries extrusion plant at 2001 Antioch Road (the old Aladdin building).
The fire call came in at 4:20 p.m. The fire has been contained, but the cause is not known, said Robert Webb, senior director for public affairs and corporate communications for Mohawk.
“We are relieved that no one was injured during the incident," Webb said. "We are delighted with the fire department and their response time.” Webb said there was “no significant structural damage.”
Mark Buckner, head of security and loss prevention for Mohawk, said the fire started in one of the storage areas. The building was evacuated.
