Family Crisis Center board announces plans for annual holiday tour of homes

Submitted by the Northwest Georgia Family Crisis Center

— Tickets for the 22nd annual Holiday Tour of Homes to benefit the Northwest Georgia Family Crisis Center are now on sale. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.

Four homeowners have graciously opened their homes to the tour. Their hospitality allows tour participants to enjoy a lovely holiday tradition and obtain beautiful decorating ideas while supporting a worthwhile cause. Each home represents a very unique architectural and distinctive decorating flair.

Home tours begin at 5 p.m. The tour is self-paced and the homes can be visited and enjoyed in any order. The homes will close to the tour at 9 p.m. An elegant buffet dinner will also be served at the Dalton Golf and Country Club from 6 until 10 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for the home tour only or the tour and buffet.

The event’s theme, “Peace on Earth begins at home,” is a reflection of the center’s mission. The center’s purpose is to end violence in the home by providing shelter, advocacy and support to victims while working in communities to change attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. The center provides emergency shelter for domestic violence victims and their children. In addition to a shelter, the center provides advocacy and client support services through offices in Dalton, Calhoun and Chatsworth. The center serves Gordon, Murray and Whitfield County residents.

The holiday event is a major fundraising effort for the center. Tickets for the tour only are $35 per person, $60 tickets include the home tour and the buffet dinner. Tickets reservations may be made by calling (706) 278-6595.
