Restaurant report card — Murray County

Murray County Environmental Health conducts inspections of restaurants. The inspectors may require a re-inspection. Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection permit.

The Daily Citizen lists areas where the establishments are out of compliance with the regulations. Recent restaurant scores for all six counties within the North Georgia Health District are available at www.nghd.org.

Comments: Observed no employee health policy in place. Install a health policy that excludes and restricts employees during certain illnesses. Corrected on site. Observed personal drinks at the prep area. These drinks were in cups without lids. All personal drinks shall be in a single-service cup with lid/straw. Observed an employee making hamburger patties with long hair and an insufficient hair restraint. All employees with longer hair shall wear hair restraints that completely encompass/control their hair.

Comments: Observed grilled chicken, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce at 50 degrees. Two prep coolers are struggling to maintain proper temperature of 41 degrees or lower. Use other coolers to keep foods cool until small coolers are fixed. Fix immediately! Corrected on site, threw chicken/spaghetti out.

  • Man charged for using fraudulent Social Security card

    A man is being held in the Whitfield County Jail on multiple charges for using a fraudulent Social Security card with someone else’s Social Security number to land a job at a rug manufacturer in Dalton and for providing false information to receive workers’ compensation benefits, according to the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division.
