Rhonda Hayes is no longer the superintendent of Crisp County Schools.
Hayes announced an early resignation, effective immediately, on Monday at a Crisp County school board meeting, according to the Cordele Dispatch. The newspaper wrote that Hayes quit because of unspecified personal reasons.
Hayes was an assistant superintendent of Dalton Public Schools from 2006 until March of last year when she became superintendent of the Crisp County school system, located about 75 miles south of Macon. Her husband, Danny, was superintendent of Whitfield County Schools from 2010 to March 2013. He currently serves as superintendent of Berrien County Schools, approximately 35 miles north of Valdosta, according to the school system’s website. He began there in July 2013.
During a Crisp County school board meeting on Monday, Rhonda Hayes offered her immediate resignation, according to the Cordele Dispatch. The board voted unanimously to approve the resignation.
