Restaurant report card — Whitfield County

— Whitfield County Environmental Health conducts inspections of restaurants every three months. The inspectors may require a re-inspection. Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection permit.

The Daily Citizen lists areas where the establishments are out of compliance with the regulations.

Comments: Sink and prep cooler lids need to be maintained clean. Ants were observed in sugar bulk containers. Sugar was discarded. No food present to measure temperature.

Comments: Drink was observed (without lid or straw) on top of refrigerator. Personal drink (open) in refrigerator. All employee drinks must be in single-service container with lid and straw. Date was not observed on stored food in refrigerator. Date the food when made or use by date must be indicated on container (seven days to use stored food). Wiping cloths were observed out of sanitizer bucket. All wipes not being used must be in bucket/container with appropriate sanitizer strength. Chlorine was too strong. Keep at 100 ppm. Plates and forks were observed out of compliance. Forks were facing up, as well as the plates. Forks must be stored with handle up and plates inverted.



Cici’s Pizza, 1345 W. Walnut Ave.

Comments: Deep dish pineapple/ham at 118.5 degrees, thin veggie at 133 degrees. Maintain potentially hazardous foods at 135 degrees or higher. Change water as needed in three-compartment sink. Clean rice machine lid, fans, outside of bulk containers, etc.

Comments: Food contact surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized. In-use ice scoop had visible accumulation of food residue, it must be cleaned. Open box of food was stored under leaking line in walk-in freezer. Floors need cleaning and replace missing lining on drive-through window. Also, fix leaks in ceiling. Gnat problem in kitchen.



McDonald’s, 1210 Glenwood Ave.

Comments: Observed employee changing tasks without washing hands. Employees must wash hands before putting on a new pair of gloves. Wiping cloths on countertops. Store cloths in sanitizer when not in hand. Replace torn gaskets. Flies.
