Fogarty now deputy director for library system

Nicholas Fogarty has been named deputy director for the Northwest Georgia Regional Library System headquartered in Dalton. The system serves Whitfield, Gordon and Murray counties.
Fogarty was previously assistant director for administration. He will coordinate regional technical services and administrative functions such as federal, state and local reports, human resources, finance and fundraising.
Fogarty has 34 years of library-related experience, including having been director of three library systems in Connecticut, New Jersey and Georgia. Prior to joining the Northwest Georgia Regional Library System, Fogarty was assistant director of the Cobb County Public Library in Marietta and director of the Sequoyah Regional Library System in Canton. He obtained his master’s in library science from Southern Connecticut State University and a Certificate of Local Government Management from the University of Georgia.
He is a member of the Dalton Rotary Club, past president of the Rotary Club of Canton and past board member of the Marietta Rotary Club. He is former chair of North Georgia Associated Libraries and a past member of the Georgia Regents Public Library Advisory Committee.
