Mt. Juliet (Tenn.) 2, Northwest Whitfield 1: Seth Pierce’s complete game on the mound was spoiled by an offense that managed just three hits in the Scenic City Classic tournament in Chattanooga.

Northwest (3-2) scored in the first, with Brandon Smith reaching on an error and going to second on the play to get the inning started. Brady Middleton followed with a bunt single and Diego Peralta — who was the only Bruin with two hits — had an infield single to the hole at second to drive Smith in.

Pickens 6, Coahulla Creek 5: The Colts (2-5) led 5-2 after five innings but allowed two runs in both the sixth and seventh as they lost on the road.

After Erick Dominguez pitched 2 1/3 innings, Danny Stavrow pitched the final 1 1/3. He didn’t allow a hit, walked two, struck out two and gave up two unearned runs.
