• Southeast’s girls were third and the boys took fourth in the 11-team Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Invitational. North Murray’s boys finished fifth behind three first-place individual performances.
The Lady Raiders had 74.5 points to finish behind Tennessee’s Signal Mountain (102) and the host Lady Warriors (77), while the Raiders (65.5) trailed Tennessee’s Ooltewah (103) and Hixson (92), as well as the host Warriors (72).
The Lady Raiders’ Wendy Perez won the discus with a throw of 94 feet and she also ran a leg for the victorious 4x100-meter relay team. Britany Painter, Isabel Salinas and Kayleen Mullins also ran on that team, which finished in 4 minutes, 46 seconds. Salinas took second in the 800 (2:37) and third in the 1,600 (5:54).
The Raiders’ Jayro Perez won the discus (129-0), while teammate Cody Ensley was third in the event with a throw of 109. For North Murray, Isaac Pacheco won both the 800 (2:08) and 1,600 (4:45) to earn co-outstanding athlete honors at the meet, while Brady Swilling won the high jump (6-0) and Jacob Mays was third in shot put (41-0).
