Sleep problems linked to electronics

Many parents have been wondering why their kids seem so groggy in the morning. A new poll by the National Sleep Foundation shows that kids simply are not getting the proper amount of sleep. The annual “Sleep in America” poll shows that electronics may be to blame for your child’s lack of sleep. — KFOR

Warning: Infant sound machines may lead to hearing loss

Infant sleep machines may be too loud, potentially damaging a baby’s delicate hearing. New research shows that when played at maximum levels, some of these devices — which play soothing sounds to help babies sleep — could exceed the noise limit recommended for infants at hospital nurseries. — CBS News

Giant wave ruins brunch in Santa Barbara

A quiet Saturday brunch turned chaotic when a large wave crashed through restaurant windows, shattering glass and drenching the restaurant and customers with seawater. — Time

2 arrested for armed robbery of woman in labor

Annapolis (Md.) Police arrested two people for an armed robbery of a pregnant woman in labor. An eyewitness called police at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday after seeing a man and pregnant woman being held at gunpoint in the 1800 block of Copeland Street. — CBS Baltimore

Russia denies issuing military ultimatum to Ukraine

The Russian ministry of defense on Monday dismissed as “total nonsense” a report that its navy had delivered an ultimatum to Ukraine’s military to surrender at dawn or face a “real storm,” the Russian media reports. — USA Today

U.S. urges North Korea to exercise restraint after rocket launches

The U.S. State Department urged North Korea on Monday to exercise restraint and to avoid provocative actions following reports that it launched two short-range missiles. — Reuters
