ATLANTA (AP) — A farm tour in northeast Georgia is aimed at showcasing the farms, farmers, markets and restaurants fueling the local farm-to-table food movement.
The Georgia Mountains Farm Tour scheduled for June 15 and 16 and is slated to span 16 locations in Habersham, Rabun, White and Stephens counties.
Organizers say the tour is perfect for visitors looking to learn how local food is produced or for aspiring gardeners and farmers looking to lean sustainable growing methods. Visitors are encouraged to bring coolers to buy fresh foods directly from the farms they were produced at. The tour will also feature meals prepared by local chefs.
The event is organized by the Georgia Mountains Farmers Network and the South River Watershed Association. Tickets may be purchased online.
