Mr. Herman Luckey, 82, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, retired from Gallagher and Burk Construction, and he was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Luckey and Malinda Anthony Luckey; sisters, Baby J. Luckey of Vernon, Texas, Clotee Blanton of Pittsburg, Calif., Noree Frater of Los Angeles, Calif., Ladonie Broadnex of Midland, Texas, and Wyvonia Williams of East Palo Alto, Calif.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Jimmie Ramsey Luckey; sons, Derrick (Annette) Luckey Sr. of Pittsburg, Calif., and Micheal (Cathy) Luckey of Galt, Calif.; daughter, Cheryl Luckey-Jones of San Francisco, Calif.; stepson, Kevin (Drusilla) Griffin of Tunnel Hill; twin brother, Sherman Luckey Sr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; three sisters, Lavatha Luckey of Austin, Texas, Freida Newman of Augusta and Charlie Mae Johnson of Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Kia, Marquise, Allyssa, Danielle, Derrick Jr., Alicia, Tiana and Gabriel; four great-grandchildren; aunts, Mary Betton and Eva Lou Rivers; special daughter and friend, Mary Dillard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry L. Burse and other ministers officiating.

His remains will lie at the funeral home today after 11 a.m.

Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery.
