Mary Frances Holcomb Farmer
Mary Frances Holcomb Farmer, 78, of Flowery Branch, died May 11, 2008,
She was born July 8, 1929, in McMinn County. Tennessee. She passed away after an extended illness at the home of her daughter with her three children at her bedside.
Mary Frances was a devoted wife and mother who sacrificed for her family as only a godly woman can do. Even in her own health struggles, she cared for her husband until his passing. During her final years, she continued to be a loving mother and adoring sister. Throughout her life, she was a source of strength for her family.
Mary Frances (Sance) was the daughter of Charlie and Minnie Lou Holcomb of Dalton. She graduated from Dalton High School in 1946, and was a member of Morris Street Methodist Church. She retired from Boyle Midway after 29 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Herbert Farmer; he was a Mason and a retiree of General Motors.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Jenny Farmer of Oxford; sons, Kelly Farmer and wife Paula of Statham and Jeff Farmer of Flowery Branch; brother, John R. Holcomb and wife Dorothy of Dalton; granddaughter, Kriston Farmer of Atlanta; grandson, Logan Farmer of Salt Lake City Utah; nephews, Dan Holcomb and wife Marla of Dalton; niece, Anna Holcomb Lewis and husband Brad of Dalton, Joe Tate and wife Gay of Tunnel Hill; niece, Diane Atkins and husband Thurman of Dalton;, special cousin, Tommie Freeman of Carrolton.
Memorial services are Sunday, June 1, at 4:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Dalton.
