Donald ‘Devin’ Payne

Donald “Devin” Payne, 35, of Chickamauga, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

He was born Feb. 2, 1973, in Dalton. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed music and the outdoors. Devin played the guitar and drums, loved his dirt bike and rock climbing.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edith West; grandfathers, Lloyd Payne Sr. and Edwin York; aunt, Patricia Lewis.

Survivors include his parents, Lloyd Donald Payne Jr. and Teresa Ann York Payne of Chickamauga; daughter, Erica Paige Roberts of LaFayette; brother and sister-in-law, Denny and Norma Payne of LaFayette; aunts and uncles, Dale and Peggy Payne of Benton, Tenn., Gary and Sheila Payne of Athens, Tenn., Timmy and Amy Payne of Ducktown, Tenn., Pedro and Renee Payne of Blue Ridge, Larry and Patricia York of Asheville, N.C.; niece, Nicole Payne; nephew, Luke Payne; and several cousins.

Services are at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will be in Rock Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends today prior to the service at the funeral home.
