Kathleen Jackson
Mrs. Kathleen Maret Jackson, 90 of 134 Hartwell St., Royston, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Franklin County on Oct. 25, 1917, daughter of the late Karl Eugene and Sophia Randall Maret. She was an administrative assistant having worked with the L.R. Tucker Co. and was a member of the Royston Baptist Church where she was a member of the Bible Sunday school class. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club, she was a dedicated member of the Ty Cobb Pink Ladies Auxiliary for more than 50 years, and the UDC Lavonia Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Carmon B. Jackson.
Survivors Include brothers, Randall and Charles Maret, both of Dalton; sisters, Marguerite LeCroy, Henrietta Mabry and Sue Maret, all of Lavonia, Jo Nix of Hamilton, Elaine Gibbs of Royston, Bette Cowles of Marietta; 22 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Laura Akin and a brother, Karl D. Maret.
Services for Mrs. Jackson will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Royston Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Bielski, the Rev. Mike Smith and Vernon Boswell officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens – North.
The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today. The family is at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Royston Baptist Church, 767 Church St., Royston, GA 30662, or the Ty Cobb Pink Ladies Auxiliary, 521 Franklin Springs St., Royston, GA 30662, or to Odyssey Hospice, 575 Research Drive, Athens, GA 30605.
