James Claude Cook Sr.
James Claude Cook Sr., 65, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ida Cook; brothers Farris, Leon and Eugene Cook; father-in-law, Earl Burnette Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra Cook of the residence; son, James C. Cook Jr. of Tunnel Hill; sisters, Betty Stinnett and Ann Horton, both of Rocky Face; brothers and sister-in-law, Ervin Cook of Rocky Face, and Charlie and Betty Cook of Tunnel Hill; grandson, Matthew Cook of Ringgold; mother-in-law, Ruby Burnette of Varnell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy and Betsy Burnette of Varnell, and Earl Jr. and Becky Burnette of Cohutta; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Higgins, Glenda and Charles White, all of Cohutta, and Nella Ruth Cook of Rocky Face; nieces and nephews; and his best friend “Spike.”
A memorial service was Saturday at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
