Benny Coley, 87, of Rocky Face, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Mae Coley; parents, D.E. and Lida Coley; brothers, Bill, Marshall, Albert, Shelburn and Cebern Coley; sisters, Odell Masters and Lethie England.

Mr. Coley was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and a decorated veteran of WWII serving with Gen. Mark Clark’s Fifth Army.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Gary Middleton of Rocky Face; sisters, Mary Lou Bankston of Rocky Face, Earlie Bea Teasley and Christine Duckett, both of Dalton; sister-in-law and husband, Suzanne and Donald Jones of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Benny and Regina Middleton and Tonya and Ben Tidwell; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Coley and Bella; nieces and nephews.

The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at the Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dewey Boyd and the Rev. George Ross officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 178, Rocky Face, GA 30740
