Mrs. Calista Mae Merritt Hooks, of Chatsworth and Camilla, Ga., passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 in the Hamilton Medical Center.

Calista was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Emma Merritt of Camilla, Ga., and a brother, Bennie Merritt, Jr. of Chatsworth.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Tony Hampton of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cathy Hooks of Dawsonville, Ga.; grandchildren, Eric Davis of Chatsworth, Colby Davis and wife, Paula of Hickory, N.C., Kelly Anzinger and husband, John of Orlando, Fla., Libby Boling and husband, Tyler of Dawsonville, Ga., and Emily Hampton of Chatsworth; great-grandchildren, Landen, Elise and Nathaniel Davis of Hickory, N.C., and Jackson Boling of Dawsonville, Ga.; a niece, June Callahan and husband, Johnny of Chatsworth, Ga.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hooks will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Cool Springs Baptist Church in Sale City, Colquitt County, Ga. with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home located at 410 E. Broad Street, Camilla, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in her memory.
