Lorene Arvy Davenport
The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Lorene Arvy Davenport, 78, of Blue Ridge, who passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, Tenn. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Larkin Garner Davenport and Lizzie Jane Tilley Davenport. She was a member of O’Zion Baptist Church and preceded in death by a daughter Frances Landen.
She is survived her husband, Alfred J. Davenport of Blue Ridge; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Brenda Davenport of Dalton, Danny and Becky Davenport of Cherry Log, and Tracy and Debbie Davenport of Blue Ridge; sisters, Leesta Davenport of Blue Ridge and Vesta Duvall of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Trena Ray, Trista Davenport, Jamie Davenport, Arionna Davenport, Jacob Davenport, Amber Tipton and Brandon Davenport; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Ray, Leesta Tipton, and Trystan Davenport.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. from O’Zion Baptist Church with Rev. J.D. Thomas and Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music will be by the O’Zion Church Choir and Patsy Beaver. Pallbearers will be Colin Ray, Bryan Tipton, Brandon Davenport, Hugh Davenport, J.T. Duvall and Glen Davenport. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
