Audrey Lorene Miller
Mrs. Audrey Lorene Miller, 73, of Knoxville, Tenn., departed this life Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mrs. Miller was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Harlan County, Ky., a daughter of the late James Horace VanMeter and Minnie Idella Bolt VanMeter. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Chester and J.H. VanMeter, and sisters, Opal Disney, Lillian Brock and Jewell Bowlin. She was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was twice a Worthy Matron.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Miller of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sherry Miller and Roy E. Miller, all of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna Marie and David Farmer of LaFayette and Minnie Juanita and Jim Stombaugh of Knoxville; sister, Mary Lois Lewis of Marietta; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Audrey Lorene Miller are Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Charlie Pratt, the Rev. David Simmons and the Rev. Pratt Hughes officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be LaBron Miller, Daniel Miller, Steve Crider, Joseph Stombaugh, Jeremiah Stombaugh, Cris Davis, Allen Massingill, Jacob Stombaugh, Johnny Pratt and Kevin Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bert West, Dallas Greene, George Hughes, James “Cotton” Smith and Joe Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday after 6 p.m.
