Roy E. Covington, 66, of Tifton, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Covington was born March 5, 1947, in Resaca to the late Hautis Roy “Hoyt” and Lottie Marion Wilson Covington. He lived in Tifton for the past nine years. Mr. Covington was a drafter and engineer, retiring from Shaw Industries. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Covington enjoyed dirt track racing, traveling, antique cars and race cars.
Mr. Covington is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Reeves Covington of Tifton; sons, Scott Covington of Rome and Jeremy Covington of Chattanooga; daughters, Cammie Causey of Adairsville and Cynthia Coats of Valdosta; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Bobbie Dixon of Dalton, and Betty and Tim Hackel of Mableton; niece, Kimberly Isenhower of Dalton; and great-niece, Amber Stephens of Dalton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Dan Eidson officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Services will also be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Max Brannon Funeral Home in Calhoun.
Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery.
A visitation will be on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Calhoun.
