Mr. Ronald Jackson Dills Sr., 67, of Dalton, departed this life Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald was born April 6, 1946, in Nantahala, N.C., a son of the late Floyd Jackson and Alice Pauline Roper Dills. He was a 1964 graduate of Nantahala High School. He was a supervisor in the tufting department at Mohawk’s Aladdin Mills plant. He loved woodworking and painting landscapes.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Mason Dills of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Ashley Dills of Dalton, and Brian Dills of Varnell; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Scott Glover of Dalton; grandchildren, Kayla Yother, Jacob Dills, Caleb Dills, John Dills, Zachary Harris, Garrett Dills, Kara Harris, Logan Dills, Kenzleigh Dills, Ashley Brooke Dills, Isaiah Dills, Levi Dills and Christian Dills; brothers and sister-in-law, William “Billy” and Patricia Dills of Ringgold, and Jerry Dills of Cohutta; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth Gillespie of Marble, N.C., and Carolyn and Bobby Grant of Tiger; and nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronald Jackson Dills Sr. will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at White Oaks Flats Baptist Church, 1230 Long Branch Road in Topton, N.C., with the Rev. S.J. Waters officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Bethel Hills Baptist Church Cemetery in Nantahala, N.C., with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m., and Thursday after noon at White Oaks Flats Baptist Church until the service hour.
