David W. Cockburn, 46, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtis and Raymond Trammell, Roy and Grace Cockburn; first cousin, Randy Trammell.
He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Tanner Cockburn of Crandall and Jeremy Hawkins of Cohutta; parents, John and Pat Cockburn of Crandall; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Tim Cooper of Old Fort, Tenn.; granddaughters, Lily and Ansley Hawkins; niece, Susanne Cooper and nephew, Seth Cooper.
The funeral to honor the life of Mr. Cockburn will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Shadwick and the Rev. Bill Gardner officiating.
Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
