Mrs. Connie Lou Rogers Griggs, 54, of Dalton, departed this life Monday afternoon, April 1, 2013, in Murray County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Connie was born June 26, 1958, in Alabama, a daughter of the late Margaret Elizabeth Williams Amos and Guy Patrick Slaton.
Connie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter and friends with everyone she met. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Griggs of the residence; daughter, Stephanie Stone; grandchildren, Allison Rogers, Benjermin Stone and Emma Stone; brothers, Patrick Slaton, Michael Slaton and Marles Rhoden, all of Chatsworth; sisters, Jane Brown of Dalton and Donna Jones of Griffin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Joan Griggs; former mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frances Rogers and the late James Rogers, all of Dalton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Connie Rogers Griggs will be today at 4 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Larry Morgan and the Rev. J.E. Morgan officiating.
She will be laid to rest at the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with Michael Murray, Leo Tiller, Charles Shadwick, Everett Miley, Tony Angel and Jerry Gosswick serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel today from 3 to 4 p.m.
