The Rev. Jack Howard Adams, 84, of Chatsworth and formerly of Birmingham, Ala., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Kyle and Murzie Adams.

Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years and the love of his life, Mrs. Reba Crane Adams.

Other survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri and Bob Monroe of Hixson, Tenn., Jan and Greg Baird of Atlanta, and Pamela and Eric Keyes of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Joyce Adams of Trussville, Ala., and John and Sue Adams of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Gregory Brandon Baird, Adam Baird, Christopher Keyes, Aaron Keyes and Jackson Keyes; great-grandchildren, Evaliese Baird and Collin Baird; nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Adams, a Lee College graduate, was faithful to the divine calling as a minister of the gospel for more than 60 years. During that time, he pastored the following Churches of God: Hamilton and Xenia, Ohio, Midland, Mich., Village, Winter Haven, Fla., Valley View, Sylacauga, Ala., Harlan Park, Middletown, Ohio, Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio, Parkway, Salisbury, Md., and Kenosha, Wis. In addition, he served as the state overseer of Wisconsin as well as a member of the state council in Michigan, Alabama, Ohio, Maryland and Wisconsin.

Services for the Rev. Adams will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crosspointe Christian Centre.

 The Rev. Stan Lester, Dr. Raymond Culpepper and Dr. Michael Baker will be officiating and special remarks from the family will be shared by the Rev. Greg Baird and the Rev. Adam Baird.

Interment with military honors will be in Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements.
