James ‘Jimmy Lee’ Cooper
Mr. James “Jimmy Lee” Cooper, 86, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Betton Cooper; daughter, Mary Jane Cooper Robinson; parents, Jim Henry and Mary Cooper; sisters, Bernice Moore, Mary Helen Moore and Herline Baker; brothers, Julian Cooper; and son, Clinton Earl Betton.
He is survived by his children, Syble Jean (Johnny) Gregory, Pamela (Clinton) Hampton, James Cooper Jr., Bryan Cooper, Patricia (Wallace) Hall and Cheryl Taylor; grandchildren, Tammy, Bridget, Brett, Aisha, Ebony, Gregory, Shareda, Jasma, DiAna, and Jamie; a host of great-grandchildren and other grandchildren; brother, Leon (Marion) Cooper; sister, Charlotte (Tommy) Griffin; aunt, Nellie Mae Cooper; sister-in-law, Eva Lou Rivers; special friend, Peggy Maynard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry D. Jones Sr., the Rev. Chris Bonds and other ministers officiating.
His remains will be at the funeral home Saturday after 11 a.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
