Mary Frank Erwin Kibble

On Saturday evening, May 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, Mary Frank Erwin Kibble ran into heaven as fast as her short little legs could carry her. Mary won her year-long battle with cancer.

She was a loving mother to Caleb and his wife, Sarah, of Rome, and wonderful Nana to Carter and Sawyer. She will also be missed by her sister, Cissy; brother-in-law, Olin McSherry; brother-in-law, Pat Morris; five nieces and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in Trion on Feb. 4, 1947, and is the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Veal Erwin. She was also preceded in death by her baby sister, Joy Erwin Morris.

Mary was a member of Mount Rachel Baptist Church in Dalton.

Mary invested her life in other people. Many years were spent enjoying her students at New Hope Elementary School in Tunnel Hill. She was a loyal friend and faithful prayer warrior, always seeing others’ needs met before her own.

A celebration service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, led by Pastors Jarrod Roberts and Marty Greene.

The family will receive friends at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until the service. Faculty and staff of New Hope Elementary School are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Ms. Mary’s Read to Me Book/Helps Fund,” New Hope Elementary School, 1175 New Hope Road N.W., Dalton, GA 30720, attention: Ms. Mary’s Books.

Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, 4900 Martha Berry Highway, Rome, is in charge of arrangements.
