Anita Maureen Rhodes Burns of Dalton gracefully entered heaven Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Burns; parents, the Rev. John Sr. and Rena Ellen Rhodes; brother, John Rhodes Jr.; sister, Patricia Ann Neal.
She was a member of South Cohutta Baptist Church. Mrs. Burns was always a constant reminder of God’s gracefulness as she was the most precious mother anyone could ask for. Her life and testimony shall not live in vain as she will forever live on through all the lives she touched with her sweet spirit and love for the Lord.
She is survived by a daughter, Heather Machelle Hibberts of Dalton; special nieces, Tammy Rhodes and Gerry Ownby, both of Cleveland; special longtime friends, Renee Moneta and Peggy Morgan; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousin.
A ceremony to celebrate Mrs. Burns’ heavenly homecoming will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at South Cohutta Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Warren, the Rev. Ronnie Nix and the Rev. Tim McCulley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
