Willie Love McMinn White

Willie Love White, 84, of Tunnel Hill, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Ira and Lessie McMinn of Toccoa.

Willie Love graduated from Toccoa High School, Furman University, Southwestern Baptist Seminary and Goucher College. She taught elementary school in Baltimore, Md., for six years.

She loved life as a minister’s wife and working in the church. She was a Sunday school teacher and held positions in the Women’s Missionary Union. She was an active member of Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church for 25 years. She and her husband, Fred, recently received a public proclamation from the mayor of Tunnel Hill and the city council for all the service to their community. She was known well for her greeting “Has anyone told you today that Jesus loves you?”

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, the Rev. Fred White; daughters and sons-in-law, Lajuana and Eddy Rich of Doraville, and Angela and Larry Marlin of Dalton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Mary White of Fairfield, Ohio, and Dan and Lydia White of Flowery Branch; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

 The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. White will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Hutto and the Rev. Dewey Boyd officiating.

Mrs. White will lie at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m.
