Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Williams Harrison, 92, died Friday, June 28, 2013.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Anniston, Ala., on April 19, 1921. She was the daughter of Annie Lee and Dr. James Williams of Jacksonville, Ala. Mrs. Harrison was affectionately called “Mary Lib” by friends and family. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University. Mary Lib was married to the late Jake Harrison, a local businessman in Carrollton. She taught school for many years and was a longtime resident of Carrollton and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was residing in Griffin at the time of her death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jacob R. Harrison Jr. and Sharon E. Harrison of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Lucy A. White and Lamar S. White of Griffin; grandchildren, Marla White, Marie White, Marc White, Margaret Harrison Wood and Bruce Wood, Mike Harrison, Matthew and Tracy Moore, and Michael and Lorie Moore; great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Nancy Claire, Dory Ann, Caroline, Reese and Evy.
There will be a graveside memorial service for the immediate family in July.
Her remains will be buried at a family plot in Jacksonville, Ala.
