Mildred Clayton, 76, of Ringgold, entered The Gates of Heaven Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at her residence.
She was preceded by her parents, Frank and Lucy Presswood Locke, one sister and four brothers.
She attended Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Clayton of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Karen Kennedy of Jefferson City, Mo., and Kim and David Moore of Tunnel Hill; two sisters, Gussie Grizzle of Tunnel Hill and Mae Grooms of Dalton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Heartlite Hospice for their loving care.
The funeral to celebrate the life of Mildred Clayton will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Brothers Darey Kittle and Steven Clayton officiating. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
