Marvin Penson

— Marvin Penson, 71, of Dalton, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his loving son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

He was saved in 1965 and was proud to tell you that he was ready to go home to his wife.

Mr. Penson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Penson; parents, Charlie and Mary Penson; brothers, Johnny and Richard Penson, sisters, Jessie Ruth Ingram and Mamie Lou Smith.

A special thank you to Hamilton Hospice, they were outstanding. The love and caring support offered was above and beyond. He loved Davida (Dee) Underwood and Caron Cobb and enjoyed the time they spent together.

He is survived by his one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Courtney Penson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Tommy Sluder and Jennifer and Roger Young, all of Dalton; brother, Jimmy Penson of Rocky Face; sisters, Susie Palmer of Chatsworth, Margie Frady of Chattanooga; special niece. Sandra Gray; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Penson will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Warren officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
