Mrs. Eva Timms, 79, of Chatsworth, departed this life Sunday morning, July 28, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Eva was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Fayette, Ala., a daughter of the late Fayette and Essie Mae West Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Timms; daughter, Susan Timms; and brothers, Junior Moore and Jimmy Moore.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Timms, Ricky and Mary Ann Rainey, Michael and Jane Rainey, Marty Rainey, and Tony and Sue Rainey, all of Chatsworth; stepson, Eddie Timms of Dalton; special mention, Monda and Nathan Wooten of Trenton; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Harold McDade of Bradenton, Fla.; special friend, John Hughes of Tunnel Hill; her special pet, Charlie; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Eva Jewel Timms will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Steve Spangler officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Casey Springs Cemetery with her grandsons Greg Arnold, Nigel Rainey, Nicholas Rainey, Dex Wooten, Shane Rainey and Shawn Estermyer serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
