Mr. Coy Blevins Jr., 83, of Dalton, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Hamilton Medical Center.
Coy was born March 18, 1929, in Tennessee, a son of the late Elizabeth Ogle Holloway and Coy Blevins Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Vonnie Blevins, and a sister, Nellie Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Monteen Howell Blevins of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Marvin Howell of Dalton, and Lester and Johnnie Mae Blevins of Rocky Face; daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda and James Callahan, and Pamela Callaway, all of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Beatrice Blevins of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva and Osborn Armstrong of Troy, Mich., and Shirley Hollums of Dalton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Coy Blevins Jr. will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Beach officiating. He will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
