The Rev. Charles A. Groover, 73, of Chatsworth, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Floyd Medical Center.
The Rev. Groover is survived by his wife, Faye Kelly Groover of Chatsworth; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Rodger Alan Allgood of Jasper, Andy and Stephanie Groover of Cartersville, and Jeff Cline of Piedmont, S.C.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Andrea and Hutch Monroe of Jasper, Adrian and Tony Wilson of Jasper, Angie Pritchard of Jasper, and Jennifer and Grant Walls of Chatsworth; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Joann Groover; one sister, Peggy Allgood; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Webster Newberry; and his mother-in-law, Reba Kelly. The Rev. Groover had 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Friday and Saturday. The funeral service was Saturday, May 4, at the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Kaylor officiating.
Entombment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Tim Prather, Ben Allgood, Kris Logan, Jordan Walls, Dylan Hollifield and Dean Pritchard.
The Rev. Groover was preceded in death by his brother, R.M. (Gus) Groover.
The family accepted flowers or donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
