Carol Jean (Labiske) Hogeland was born in Astoria, Ore., on May 30, 1932. She died on April 24, 2013, at the age of 80. She was the daughter of Anna Hansen Roberts and Edward Labiske, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Labiske Davis.
Carol graduated from Astoria High School. Carol worked for many years in the cannery before dedicating her life to her husband and children. She was an avid clam digger and was a collector of many things including Barbie dolls and beer steins.
She was an active member of the Ladies of the Elks as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She spent many years volunteering for the blood mobile and helping out with American Legion bingo.
Carol is survived by her husband, Larry Murl Hogeland and her brother, Edward Labiske.
Carol and Larry were married on July 8, 1961, in Longview, Wash., and have three children, Lynn Bybee from West Hollywood, Calif., Teri Spearman from Calhoun and Larry Dean Hogeland from Medford, Ore.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law Anne Hogeland Bennett of Chatsworth; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
