Mrs. Carolyn Kay Huckeba, 58, of Rocky Face, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by many loving friends and family.
Kay had a smile that could light up a room. She was known for her joyous, fun-loving personality. Her life was centered around being with family and spending time with grandchildren.
Kay was born Dec. 19, 1954, in Athens, Tenn., to the late Dewey and Bernice Higenbottom. She will also be reunited with brother, Paul Higenbottom; sister, Wilma Sillett; and brother-in-law, Henry Banks.
To cherish her memory, Kay leaves behind her loving husband of 35 years, Tommy Huckeba; three children, Amanda (Eddie) Dobbs of Rocky Face, Toby Huckeba of Rocky Face and Dale Huckeba (Tara Lemley) of Charleston, Tenn.; grandchildren, Veronica, Caleb and Landon Dobbs of Rocky Face, Nathaniel and Kierra Huckeba of Charleston, Tenn.; sister, Diane Banks of Cleveland, Tenn.; brother, Don (Nancy) Higenbottom of Pikeville, Tenn., and Scotty Higenbottom of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn. She also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins, all of which will miss her tremendously.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carolyn Kay Huckeba will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Delano Cemetery in Delano, Tenn., with Shawn Engle, Billy Thomas, Gene Ramsey, Phill Hixson, Gene Redman, Michael Isaccs and Jeff Higenbottom serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
