Mrs. Reba Barnes, 80, of Dalton, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Reba was born July 19, 1933, in Benton, Tenn., a daughter of the late John and Ella Vaughn Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Don Barnes and Dan Barnes; brother, C.L. Bishop; and sisters, Helen Hooker and Geneva Richie.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, O.B. Barnes of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathy Barnes of Ooltewah, Tenn., Tony Barnes of Dalton, Cammie Barnes, and Ricky Barnes of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Bell of Calhoun, Sandra Dunnway, Rena and Gary Calhoun, and Kindra and Cole Ulen of Tunnel Hill; sisters, Geraldine Bedwell of Cohutta, Wanda Sue Smith of Dalton and Barbara Fowler of Chatsworth; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Reba Barnes will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel.
Interment will follow in United Memorial Gardens with Drew Thornton, Brian Tuder, Jason Talley, Dylan Ramsey, Cody Carroll, Brandon Thomas, Clint Putnam and Cole Ulen serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel today from 5 to 9 p.m.
