John Waymon Jamison
Mr. John Waymon Jamison, 77, of Dalton, departed this life Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Waymon was born July 16, 1935, in Dalton, a son of the late John Alexander and Ethel Curtis Jamison. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances Yaeger Jamison and a sister, Margaret Barton.
Waymon was retired from U.S.A. Concrete where he drove a concrete truck. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
Waymon is survived by his brothers, Hiram Jamison of Rocky Face and Delford Jamison of Waverly, Kan.; sisters, Virginia “Ginger” Jamison of Dalton and Judy Ann and Mervyn White of Chatsworth; niece and nephew, Jacque and Larry Fowler; great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashley, Kelsey, Logan and Andrew Fowler, all of Dalton; several other nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. J. Waymon Jamison will be today at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Matt Futch and the Rev. George Ross officiating.
Committal services will be by the Rev. Bret Yaeger.
Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Jamison are Logan Fowler, Michael Yaegar, Bob Dulley, John Paul Bledsoe, Mitch Edgeman and Troy Edgeman.
He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel today from noon until the service hour.
