Ray Sane, 81, of Tunnel Hill, died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a Korean War veteran and a Civil War buff.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Nellie Sane; granddaughter, Melinda Davis; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roscoe and Bonnie Presley; sisters, Jessie Mae Parker, Ada Wright and Mary Lee Smith; brothers, John Henry Sane and James Sane.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Sane of Tunnel Hill; sons, Jerry and Renee Sane of Tunnel Hill, Terry Sane and Patsy Monroe of Dalton; daughters, Charline and Gary Baker of Beaufort, S.C., Darline and Chuck Morgan of Resaca, and Denese and Jeff Davis of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Amber and Derek Harris of Chatsworth, Jeremy and Katy Sane of Chatsworth, Matt and Nikki Baker of Beaufort, S.C., Amanda and Jeremy Simmons of Beaufort, S.C., Chris Baker of Beaufort, S.C., Erin and Wesley Schwibbe of Ringgold, and Joe and Jonia Davis of Ringgold; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Reeve Simmons of Beaufort, S.C., Caleb Baker of Beaufort, S.C., Alexis Parson and Aidan Harris of Chatsworth, Carson Schwibbe of Ringgold, Landon Hickman of Ringgold, Aleah Halliday, and twin great-granddaughters due in December; sister-in-law, Charline Lawless; brother-in-law, Sam and Margaret Presley, Ralph and Judy Presley, Clyde Painter; special friends, Bradley Putnam, Randy and Brenda Wagonseller, Jerry Stephenson, Red Smith and Terry Walls; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with the Rev. Clyde Painter officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens with military rites by Dalton American Legion Post 112.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m.
