Mr. Gene “Preacher Man” Manis, 79, of Chatsworth, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.
He was a member of Faith Worship Center and was also a military veteran.
Mr. Manis was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Julia Manis; wife of 51 years, Ruby Manis; brothers, William Andrew and Fred Jr.; special nephew, Ronald Manis; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doc and Jennie Dill.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Angie Manis of Chatsworth, Michael Manis of Chatsworth, Marshall Manis of Chatsworth and Roger Greeson of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Melena and Tim Kendrick of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Audrey Manis of Chatsworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eloise and Randall Weaver of Chatsworth, Janelle and Robert Burnette of Dalton, and Betty and Butch Mosteller of Washington; grandchildren, Matthew Hawkins and Amanda Farrell; many stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren, Eli and Julia; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Manis will be today at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Payne, the Rev. Andy Lands and the Rev. Michael Manis officiating.
Interment will follow in Faith Cemetery.
The family received friends on Tuesday.
