Sherry Traywick

Sherry Traywick, 60, of Tunnel Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, peacefully in her sleep at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sheridan and Mildred Thomas; brother, Daniel Thomas.

In 1961, she met her soul mate in the library of Henry School.  She was looking for a place to sit and David pulled out a chair and said, “You can sit by me,” and their adventure began.

She was a faithful member of Grove Level Baptist Church for 37 years.  She was a youth leader, Georgia teacher, Sunday school teacher, nursery worker and queen of organizing a baby or wedding shower.

Her life was one of sacrifice and caring. More than anything, she loved Jesus and her family. She loved without guardrails and she could be brutally honest and profoundly tender. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, David Traywick of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Bridgett and Spencer Oliver of Calhoun; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Cecilia Traywick of Billings, Mont.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and James Holiday and Pam and Don Beiver, all of Parkers Crossroads, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Carroll Thomas of Parson, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Diane Kinman of Easley, S.C., Ann Thomas of Henry, Tenn., and Mary Klopfenstein of McKenzie, Tenn.; grandchildren, Savannah, Spencer, Gwendolyn, Elijah, Virginia and Josiah; nieces and nephews.

The funeral to honor the life of Sherry Traywick will be Tuesday at noon at Grove Level Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Walker officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home today from 5 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hamilton Hospice, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, GA 30722.
