Jack M. Crawford

Mr. Jack M. Crawford, 88, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014.

He was born on July 21, 1925, in Rocky Face to the late Hubert H. and Nettie Reed Crawford. Jack served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. After a career as a firefighter in Highland Park, Mich., Jack retired with his family to Rocky Face. Jack was a dependable man and worked hard to provide for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Hinkle Crawford, and four siblings, Rosa Callaway, Billy Crawford, Dot Kitchings and Hazel McDonald.

He is survived by daughters, Jacki Hawkins and Cheryl Crawford. Also surviving are son-in-law, Al Hawkins, and grandsons, Jace (20 years old) and Jackson Jennings (17 years old).

A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends today from 12 to 2 p.m.

A reception will follow in the home of Jacki and Al Hawkins.     

A service will also be held at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home in Rocky Face on Monday at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends on Monday from noon to 2 p.m.

Burial will be in Dunnagan Cemetery.

Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post No. 112.
