James Willard Gladden

— Mr. James Willard Gladden, 73, of Crandall, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Gladden was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, gardening, honeybees, coon hunting and doing things for others. Mr. Gladden was retired from North Georgia Electric Membership Corp.

Mr. Gladden was preceded in death by his father, Joe Gladden; mother, Bertha Gladden; brothers, Marvin and Roy Gladden; and sisters, Lula Griswold, Loretta Cordle and Thelma Quarles.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Gladden of the home; son, Jamie Gladden of Crandall; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Jimmy (Bubba) Haynes of Chatsworth, and Angela and John Martin of Chatsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Ronald Beavers of Dalton; grandchildren, Dustin and Caleb Martin, and Tyler and Trevor Haynes; great-grandchildren, Levi and Lexie Martin; special neighbor, Ruth Taylor; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Gladden will be Friday at 2 p.m. from Holly Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Cochran, Brother Walter Hare and the Rev. John Bagley officiating.

Interment will be in Holly Creek Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holly Creek Cemetery Fund or Holly Creek CLC at 422 Holly Creek-Cool Springs Road, Chatsworth, GA 30705; or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements.
