James Henry Masters

Mr. James Henry Masters, 74, of Rocky Face, departed this life Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2014, at Regency Park Health Center surrounded by his loving family.  

James was born Feb. 5, 1940, in Dalton, a son of the late Thomas Carlton and Bertha Odell Coley Masters.  

James was a 1959 graduate of Westside High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an automobile body repairman and was the former owner of Masters Auto Body.

He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Tessa Masters and their children, Lula, Phoebe, Greyson and Emmie Masters, all of Johns Creek; stepson, Jesse J. Crawford and his children, Nicholas, Nathan and Amber Crawford, all of Calhoun; brothers, J.D. Masters and William Masters, both of Rocky Face; aunt, Earlie B. Teasely of Dalton; nieces and nephew, Kaye Masters, Sonya Frye and Michael Masters; several cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Henry Masters will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Keely Hasty officiating.

He will be laid to rest beside his beloved parents at the Griffin Cemetery in Mill Creek.  

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today and at the church after 3 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Griffin Cemetery at Mill Creek, c/o Hazel D. Shepherd, P.O. Box 308, Rocky Face, GA 30740 or to Mill Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 178, Rocky Face, GA 30740.
