Romye Eleanor Walraven

— Romye Eleanor Walraven, 98, went to heaven Thursday, March 14, 2013.

She was a lifelong resident of Whitfield County with her family being here for many generations. She attended and was a member of Five Springs United Methodist Church for most of her life, serving in many positions within the church.

As a first-grader, she attended Five Springs School before moving into Dalton. She was employed in the chenille industry and Belk-Gallant for many years while rearing a family of three boys. She was a longtime member of the Busy Bee club and enjoyed all her activities there.

Mrs. Walraven was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Willie (Johnson) Clark of Dalton; husband, W. Caldwell Walraven; son, Dr. Wesley Clifton Walraven; and brother, Dallas C. Clark Sr.

Mrs. Walraven is survived by her two sons, James Clark Walraven of Dalton and Wesley Caldwell Walraven Jr., of Cumming; daughters-in-law, Linda L. Walraven of Rome, Pat L. Walraven of Dalton and Linda L. Walraven of Cumming; six grandchildren and families, Wesley Clifton Walraven Jr., Brian Moore and Starr E. Helton of Rome, Valerie and Kurtis Ross and Cynthia and Patrick Ripley, both of Cumming, Lucrisha and Mark Sheram and Kelley and A.J. Johnston of Dalton. Also surviving are her brother, James L Clark and sisters-in-law Betty Ann Clark and Lucy Clark, all of Dalton; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Walraven will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Fleming officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the United Methodist Women of Five Springs United Methodist Church, 2823 Five Springs Road, Dalton, GA 30721.
