Mr. Charles William Sprowl Sr., 91, of Dalton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at his residence.
He retired from E&B Carpets, was a member of Dalton Masonic Lodge No. 238, Rome Consistory Lodge No. 264 Prince Hall, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a graduate of Emery Street School, Tuskegee Institute, member of American Legion Post No. 112 and VFW Recognition Past Georgia Commander-In-Chief Council of Deliberation and the American Society of the French Legion Of Honor, Distinguished Service in the United States Army during the D-Day invasion of Normandy in France on June 6, 1944.
Service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Ingram officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Kadosh Service of the Rome Consistory Lodge No. 264 Prince Hall.
His remains will lie at the funeral home today after 11 a.m.
Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery with full military rites.
