Josephine Fern Lambert Deal
Mrs. Josephine Fern Lambert Deal, 90, of Dalton, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie Hughes Lambert and was preceded in death by her husband, Tonnis Deal; sisters, Irene Forshee, Lillian Arnold and Clarkie Wald; brother, James A. “Buster” Lambert and grandson, Steve Tucker.
Josephine was a member of Dug Gap Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Candi Deal of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean Fields, Cathy and Steve Hampton, all of Dalton and Linda and Eric Boston of Cleveland, Tenn.; special caregiver and granddaughter, Deborah Spivey; special niece, Sandra Fern Bryant, who spent lots of time at Aunt Jo‘s house; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a loyal cockatiel bird named “Dixie.”
Josephine loved the Lord and having her family near. As a beloved matriarch, her warm smile and caring demeanor were consistant greetings to all who visited her home, whether for holiday gatherings, weekend cookouts or conversation and coffee around the dining room table.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Dug Gap Baptist Church with Dr. Bryon Edens and Eric Boston officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
