Bobbie Jean Hill

Bobbie Jean Hill, 79, went to be with her heavenly father, Friday, April 18, 2014.

She battled a brief struggle with cancer and fought it so bravely. She had just celebrated her 79th birthday. She was surrounded by both sons, Tony and Kevin, when she went to meet the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hill, whom she was married to for more than 40 years; parents, Lee Gooden and Ola Caldwell.

Bobbie lived her life for the Lord. She was an active member of Grove Level Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and in the ladies trio. She enjoyed going on outings with the church seniors group, loved to go shopping and traveling especially to different parts of the world to visit son Kevin and his family. In school she played basketball and stayed in touch with her friends constantly through the years. She had several secretarial jobs through the years. She enjoyed her retirement and so enjoyed working in her flowers. On her many trips there were more pictures of flowers than people.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Elizabeth Hill of Villanow and Kevin and Jannet Hill of Burke, Va.; grandchildren, Jared, Hannah and Jonas Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Donald Kittle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dee and Don Garrett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Perry and Glenda Hill; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral to honor the life of Mrs. Hill will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

You may leave the family a message on the tribute wall, upload photos or light a memorial candle at julianpeeples.com.
